If you own a Canon digital SLR (DSLR) camera, you already know that there are many lenses available for you. In this evening class, you’ll learn what lenses and accessories to use in various situations, what to buy and what to avoid. Best of all, you get to learn by trying out an array of Canon lenses, including wide angle, normal and long prime lenses, and utilitarian zoom lenses ranging from 14mm up to 200mm. You’ll also learn about creative 3rd-party lenses including the LensBabies, HolgaMods and Hartblei Super Rotators. Experiment with Tilt-Shift and Macro lenses, and find out what extension rings and life-size adapters can do. We’ll also have a variety of Canon accessories on hand to test out.

You will learn:

  • How to choose the right lens for you and how to weigh cost versus quality.
  • What lenses you need for specific shooting situations.
  • How to use specialty lenses such as tilt-shift and macro lenses.

Cost
CHF 175 per person, includes use of a variety of Canon and specialty lenses.

First we’ll look at the Canon professional lens line-up, specialty lenses and 3rd party creative lenses and discuss what kind of shooting situations to use these in and the kind of results you can expect. Then we’ll get into a hands-on shooting session so each student will have opportunities to experiment with this variety of lenses and their own Canon dSLR camera. The instructor will guide students on the use of specific lens types and be available to answer questions.
