Tip of the Week #9: Use fill flash in bright sunlight
![]()
If you are shooting into the sun, your camera will compensate for the bright light it sees. Normally (in Program mode) the camera will increase shutter speed, which will darken the subject already in shadow in front of you. If you don’t want to sacrifice the details in the shadows you can use your flash to fill in these shadowed areas.
